Raising money for Greenhill Lodge

In 2024, I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Rare and highly aggressive, we had no option but to travel to Adelaide for specialist care and treatment. Like so many, we were fortunate to call Greenhill Lodge our home away from home. 

Not just a place to stay, Greenhill Lodge became our community, meeting people travelling similar cancer journey all from regional and remote areas like Broken Hill. 

After 18 months of punishing treatments and multiple surgeries, I’m set to have my final transfusion on Thursday 12th Feb. 

To commemorate and celebrate this milestone, I am becoming a Marilyn to raise funds on behalf of every Broken Hill patient/s and carer/s. 

Every dollar I raise through the Marilyn Jetty Swim will go directly to the Greenhill Lodge. A simple means to give thanks and support from the people in Broken Hill and other regional areas who have been  impacted by cancer.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, sadly I will not be with my co-Marilyn’s at the Marion Swimming complex. This Marilyn will be taking part from afar making a splash at home.

Yesterday, I had the privilege to tell my story with ABC Broken Hill radio’s very own Patrick Riencke. A daunting live interview but a great opportunity to share my fundraising efforts. Thank you ABC Broken Hill. 
Today, Broken Hill’s Marilyn officially became a “Page 6” girl as the local Newspaper “Broken Hill Times” covered my story in support of my Marilyn Jetty Swim fundraiser.
