Who is team FOG2024 and why?
In 2020 my daughter was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, she was only 27. For no reason at all, she named her cancer Gary. In 2021 my beautiful friends, supported our family by bravely donning white swimmers, wigs and trademark moles to raise money and swim for Imogen. And just like that...Team FOG, Fuck Off Gary, was born (sorry Mum and all the Gary's out there xx).
This year we will swim together again, we will don the white swimmers, wigs and moles, we will fundraise, but this time we aren't just swimming for Imogen, but for family and friends who did not make the journey and for those who are beginning theirs.
There are 30 new cancer diagnoses in South Australia every day. That’s more than 11,000 South Australians every year. We swim to make a difference to this alarming statistic.
Every dollar the team raises through the Marilyn Jetty Swim will fund Cancer Council SA’s vital research, prevention programs and support services, like Cancer Council 13 11 20, for all South Australians impacted by cancer.
